Overview
The Deyang Confucian Temple was built in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the remaining buildings are the pattern of the Qing Dynasty Daoguang period. Deyang Confucian Temple covers an area of 20,800 square meters and has more than 20 ancient buildings. The Confucian Temple is a well-preserved, large-scale Confucian Temple with strong local characteristics in western China. It is known as the "Deyang Confucian Temple in Xichuan".

History

It collapsed due to disrepair. In 1368, it was rebuilt in the east corner of the south of the city and the existing location of the South Street in Deyang City. There have been many repairs during the Chenghua, Hongzhi, and Wanli years, and there have been palace walls, Zingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall (three yings), Chongsheng Temple (three yings), Dongxiyou (three yings for each), Jie Xiao The shrine, filial piety temple, Xiangxian shrine, Minghuan shrine, Mingluntang and other buildings were destroyed by Bingxie again in Ming Dynasty.

It was rebuilt in 1661, and it was rebuilt and repaired many times during the Kangxi, Qianlong and Jiaqing years. Large-scale repairs were carried out from 1848 to 1855, and the existing buildings are the basic pattern of the Qing Daoguang period.

Deyang Confucian Temple covers an area of 20,800 square meters, with more than 20 ancient buildings. The Confucian Temple faces the north and faces the south, and the three-entry courtyard is arranged in a symmetrical layout. The architectural layout is centered on Dacheng Hall. The north and the south form a central axis, arranged symmetrically. The central axis from south to north are: Wanren Palace Wall (Zhaobi), Liaoxing Gate, Panchi, Panqiao, Jimen (Dacheng Gate), Lile Pavilion, Dacheng Hall, Qisheng Hall. On both sides, there are: "Road Crown Ancient and Modern", "Morality with Heaven and Earth", Dongxi Yu, Dongxi Imperial Stele Pavilion, Dongxi Palace, etc. In front of the temple is the Confucian Temple Square, and there is a back garden in the north of the temple.
